Man Struck By Car After Chasing Dog Into Street

A Bloomingdale man was struck Friday night on Main Street.

A 35-year-old Bloomingdale resident was struck by a car on Main Street Friday night after chasing his dog into the street, police said Monday.

Ptl. Dan Fletcher of the said the accident was reported around 7 p.m. of a pedestrian being struck near . Police said the victim, Kevin McGrath, had been walking his dog when his dog escaped McGrath's hold and ran across the street.

McGrath ran after the dog and was struck by a female driver, also a resident of Bloomingdale.

On the scene, McGrath complained of pain in the legs, hip and shoulder, but Ptl. Fletcher said it did not appear that any bones were broken. responded to the scene and transported McGrath to St. Joseph's Hospital in Paterson.

Police said the female driver was not issued any summonses or injured.
