Minor Accident Reported As a Result of Wednesday Storm

Butler police said only one accident was reported on Route 23 Wednesday due to a traffic light being out.

Power flickered on and off for a few minutes at a time in the tri-boro Wednesday after a morning storm, but according to police and Department of Public Works (DPW) officials, there was no damage and only one accident as a result of the storm.

Capt. Ciro Chimento said there was one minor accident on Route 23 and Kiel Avenue reported at about 10:05 a.m. Wednesday that was caused by a traffic light being out because of the storm. Chimento said the accident was minor and no injuries were reported.

Other than that, Chimento said power flickered on and off Wednesday morning, but that it was the result of outages with JCP&L and not Butler Electric. Some Butler Electric customers in Bloomingdale and Butler also experienced brief outages Wednesday.
