Emergency responders spent two hours late Wednesday afternoon at the scene of an overturned tractor trailer in the area of exit 41 off Interstate 287 in Parsippany.
New Jersey State Police were at the site of the accident, as was Parsippany-Troy Hills District 6 Fire Association.
Two lanes became blocked in the 4 p.m. hour along 287 south as authorities dealt with the mishap and resulting diesel fuel spill. This created a massive backup that extended through the evening rush.
The scene finally was cleared just after 6 p.m.
Police were not available to offer further details.
