Police: Airlifted Driver Was Passing Stopped Cars

Motorcycle accident resulted in West Milford resident being sent to Paterson hospital.

The driver of a motorcycle who was airlifted to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center after an accident in Bloomingdale Monday was passing stopped vehicles, according to police.

Edwin Perez Jr. of West Milford allegedly was driving west on Main Street and went to the right to pass stopped traffic when he struck a vehicle driven by Kinnelon resident Michael Nylen. 

Police said Perez suffered multiple injuries and was airlifted to the Paterson hospital.

The accident occurred at about 5 p.m. and a State Police medevac departed from  shortly before 6 p.m.
