Police Investigating Stray Bullet Found in Home

Kinnelon police said a Tammy Terrace had a bullet shot through its rear window between midnight and 7 a.m. Sunday.

are investigating a potential criminal mischief incident where a stray bullet that was determined to have caused damage to a picture frame in a Tammy Terrace residence was found at the scene.

Police responded to the scene at 9:15 a.m. Sunday where the resident showed police a broken window in the rear of the home. The resident also showed police that a picture frame had been knocked off the wall and police determined that the stray bullet was the cause of this.

Through an investigation, police determined that between midnight and 7 a.m. Sunday, a bullet came through the window and knocked the frame to the ground.

Police said the residents and their neighbors did not report seeing or hearing anything at that time.

In addition to the Kinnelon Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Division responded to the scene to collect evidence.
