Police Respond to Two-Car Accident in Bloomingdale

Police said first driver yielded to person in crosswalk.

Police responded to a motor vehicle accident on Main Street, Bloomingdale near Wells Fargo Thursday where an airbag was deployed after a motorist came to a quick stop because of a person using the crosswalk.

According to , after the driver of the vehicle, Rockaway resident Thomas Mulligan, 61, came to a stop, a second vehicle behind his being operated by Tiffany Connelly, 23, of Hewitt, was unable to stop and struck Mulligan's vehicle.

Tri-boro First Aid Squad responded to the scene after the drivers had complained of pain, but police said all of the parties refused transportation to the hospital. The also responded to the scene as police said some vehicle fluids had leaked on the roadway.

Connelly was issued summonses for driving without a license and careless driving.

A resident of an apartment on Pleasantview Avenue told police she saw two young males looking through the rear window of her apartment Wednesday. Police said the resident provided descriptions of the males and that police spoke to several people, but were unable to locate the males.

Jessica Caruso, 34, of Butler was issued a summons and had her car impounded after her vehicle was stopped by police and she allegedly did not posses a valid insurance car. She was issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
