Police Run For Special Olympics

Law enforcement officials ran from Butler to Morris Plains on June 10.

Law enforcement officials from five local police departments came together Friday to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics by running from Butler to Morris Plains. The group also ran through Riverdale, Pequannock and Lincoln Park.

The 28th Annual Torch Run kicked off at 8:30 a.m., with participants from the Riverdale, Pompton Lakes and Wanaque police departments running, escorting runners and cheering on each other.

The Special Olympics is an annual event for athletes with developmental disabilities.
