Prosecutor and Chief Ensure Safety During Vick Protest

Law enforcement officials from several different departments were on hand on Main Street Sunday.

Blocking off each end of the street and patroling protesters and individuals waiting in line for signatures from, several officials from various law enforcement agencies were on the scene in front of Butler Sports Cards Inc. Sunday, where Vick took photos with fans and signed memorabilia.

Officials from the Butler Police Department, Bloomingdale Police Department, Kinnelon Police Department, Morris County Prosecutor's Office, Morris County Rapid Deployment Team and more were stationed on the street and behind the store, where Vick pulled up to enter the store through a back entrance.

As of about 1:30 p.m., when Vick arrived, Butler Police Capt. Ciro Chimento said no arrests had been made and that there were no problems with protesters. Chimento said the protesters had remained peaceful.

Chimento said there were more than 70 protesters on Main Street and more than 150 people waiting in line for signatures. Butler Police Chief Edward Card and Morris County Prosecutor Robert Bianchi were also on the scene to help ensure safety and direct law enforcement officials.
