Rahway Man Arrested After Found With Apparent Heroin

Police said Pelak was found with several hypodermic needles

A 24-year-old Rahway man was arrested and charged with several drug-related offenses after said they stopped his vehicle in the Riverside Square parking lot on Saturday.

David Pelak was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of hypodermic needles, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of prescription medication, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and issued several motor vehicle summonses.

said when they stopped Pelak's vehicle at about 7:35 p.m. after they found him to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Riverdale. Police searched his vehicle and allegedly found the controlled dangerous substance, believed to be heroin, and the other items.

He was arrested and trnsported to the police station. Unable to post bail, he was sent to the Passaic County jail.

Peter McKeegan, 50, of Allendale, was arrested on DWI charges on Monday. According to police, McKeegan was driving a motor vehicle on Route 287 when he was stopped for allegedly speeding.

Police said he showed signs of intoxication and was transported to the Bloomingdale police station. He was charged with DWI and speeding and issued motor vehicle summons. Police said he was released to the custody of a family member with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
