Six Charged With Underage Possession of Alcohol in Kinnelon

Teens were allegedly highly intoxicated after leaving Echo Valley Road party.

Six teenagers were charged with underage possession of alcohol after police found them allegedly intoxicated on public property when an Echo Valley Road house party was broken up on Sept. 9.

According to , Smoke Rise security was investigating a suspicious activity report at 11:45 p.m. when Dsgt. David Crouthamel spoke to a homeowner who said his daughter was hosting a party at his residence. When the homeowner was made aware of the party and that underage persons were under the influence of alcohol, he asked everyone to leave.

Police said they found three juveniles and one adult walking from Echo Valley Road into the driveway of another home. Upon approaching the walkers, police said Dsgt. Crouthamel noticed a 15-year-old female who was allegedly highly intoxicated and vomiting. She was examined by

Police said another 15-year-old female, as well as 18-year-old Kenneth Waldrop, were also allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, a 17-year-old male who was found at the scene was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. All were Kinnelon residents and all were charged with underage possession of alcohol and released to their parents.

Ptl. Nicholas Cifelli was on his way to assist Dsgt. Crouthamel when he allegedly found Antoine Delannoy, 18, of Kinnelon, stumbling in the roadway, intoxicated and bleeding from the head. Police said Delannoy was not able to provide police with his name or address. He was transported to Chilton Memorial Hospital by Tri-boro First Aid Squad and charged with underage possession of alcohol.

Ptl. Mark Ehrenburg was also at the scene assisting Dsgt. Crouthamel when he noticed a 1992 Toyota drive by with two occupants inside the vehicle and a loud muffler. Ptl. Ehrenburg stopped the vehicle on Fayson Lakes Road, at which point there were three passengers in the vehicle, because of the loud muffler and was met with the driver. Police said they could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle and that Ptl. Ehrenburg noticed that the rear passenger of the vehicle was allegedly covered in mud and did not have shoes on.

Police said upon further investigation, they discovered the passenger, Evan Trent, 18, also of Kinnelon, had been at the party on Echo Valley Road and had ran when it was broken up. Trent was arrested and charged with underage possession of alcohol. He was transported to the Kinnelon police station and later released with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
