Sussex Man Arrested on Marijuana Possession Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Butler Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 21-year-old Sussex man was arrested in Butler Wednesday after police said he was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of marijuana hidden in a glass jar in the glove box of his vehicle, as well as packaging used for controlled dangerous substances.

Justin Kozdron was charged with possession of marijuana 50 grams or less, possession of drug paraphernalia, improper maintenance of lamps and failure to wear a seatbelt.

According to , Kozdron was driving a black Honda at 4:24 p.m. when police noticed his brake lights were not functioning. Ptl. Jarred Schmiedhauser stopped the vehicle and was met by Kozdron.

Ptl. Schmiedhauser asked Kozdron for his driving credentials, and when Kozdron went to retrieve his insurance and registration information from the glove box, police allegedly saw the drugs.

Kozdron was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. He was later released in his own recognizance and issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
