Two Arrested on Warrants in Butler

The following arrest information was supplied by the Butler Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A woman was arrested Thursday evening on a warrant on Main Street in Butler.

According to police, Valbonia Asani, 38, was stopped at 9:54 p.m. while driving a 2007 Camry allegedly with improper brake lights.

said when Ptl. Dimitri Clarke stopped the vehicle, a records check showed Asani to have a warrant out for her arrest for a total of $180 from the Pequannock Municipal Court.

Asani was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. She was also charged with improper maintenance of lamps, posted bail and was released in her own recognizance.

James M. Oostdyk, 28, of Hillsdale, was arrested on Monday on two warrants-one from Ringwood Municipal Court for $650 and one from Little Falls Municipal Court for $408.

According to police, Oostdyk was driving north on Route 23 at about 7:50 a.m. when a random license place inquiry showed Oostdyk to have an expired driver’s license. Police said a further records inquiry allegedly showed the warrants.

Police said Oostdyk posted bail and was released in his own recognizance with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
