Two Arrested on Warrants in Butler

The following arrest information was supplied by the Butler Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two individuals were arrested separately on Friday by the Special Warrant Task Force.

Cameron Walek, 19, of , was arrested on a $500 warrant from the Bloomingdale Municipal Court. Police said he was unable to post bail and was turned over to the

Gerald D. Matthews Jr., 23, of Butler, was also arrested Friday for allegedly failing to attend scheduled court appearances in Bloomingdale and Butler Municipal Courts. Bail was set at $900 ($400 for Bloomingdale and $500 for Butler). Matthews Jr. was unable to post bail and was sent to the Morris County Correctional Facility.

Butler police Capt. Ciro Chimento said the special task force seeks out fugitives, as opposed to warrants being discovered during routine records checks. Det. Colleen Pascale and Acting Lt. Michael Moeller made the arrests, with assistance from Sgt. Joseph Natale.
