Unconscious Woman Charged With DUI, Cops Say

Police responded to call of woman slumped over her steering wheel to find her allegedly intoxicated.

After responding to a call of an unconscious woman in a car at Dunkin Donuts in Butler Tuesday, police said they determined the woman slumped over her steering wheel was drunk.

Theresa Blair, 50, of Bloomingdale, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and issued a summons for failure to change her address, according to Butler police Capt. Ciro Chimento.

Chimento said officers arrived at the parking lot of the Main Street coffee shop around 7:30 p.m. after a caller reported Blair to appear unconscious in a black Ford Mustang. Sgt. Scott Ricker, Ptl. Jorge Reyes and Ptl. George Beyloune investigated and found her vehicle to be running while Blair was in an unresponsive state, Chimento said.

The officers were able to awaken Blair and allegedly smelled alcohol on her breath. She was given several field sobriety tests and Chimento said she was arrested.

Blair was later released to a friend and is scheduled to appear in Butler Municipal Court at a later date.
