Warrant Arrests Made in Butler Over Weekend

Police said several arrested on outstanding warrants.

A number of warrant arrests were made by Butler police this week.

On Monday, police arrested Christopher M. Rieppe, 22, of Butler, on two alleged outstanding warrants.

Police said Sgt. Keith Soules was on routine patrol on Main Street at 1:11 a.m. when he observed a gray Subaru operating with heavy damage on the vehicle’s front end causing an unsafe driving condition. Sgt. Soules stopped the vehicle and was met with Rieppe.

Police said Sgt. Soules had knowledge of an active warrant for Rieppe’s arrest from the Cedar Grove Municipal Court for $350. Soules also allegedly discovered another warrant from Cedar Grove for $2,500.

Rieppe was arrested and transported to the Butler police station where police said he was unable to post bail. He was issued a summons for maintaining an unclear license plate (front) and was released in his own recognizance with a ticket to appear in court at a later date.

On Saturday, police arrested Tracy L. White, 50, of Franklin on an arrest warrant after police said she was allegedly driving in excess of the speed limit on Route 23 South at 9:45 p.m.

Police said she was driving a red Ford Explorer when her vehicle was stopped and police discovered the warrant for $164 out of the Franklin Municipal Court. White was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. She was later released in her own recognizance with a ticket to appear in court at a later date and issued a summons for speeding.

Also Saturday, Joseph F. Cavagnaro, 26, of Kinnelon, was arrested on a warrant out of the Kinnelon Municipal Court for $114.

Police said Cavagnaro was traveling on Route 23 South at 1:49 a.m. when they conducted a random license plate inquiry and discovered the vehicle to be allegedly unregistered with the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission. Police said further investigation led them to notice the warrant.

Cavagnaro was arrested and transported to the Butler police station where police said he was able to post bail and was released in his own recognizance with a ticket to appear in court at a later date. Police said he was also issued a summons for operating an unregistered vehicle.

On Friday, Brandon Makser, 28, of Warwick, NY, was arrested on a warrant for $328 out of the Hardyston Municipal Court after police said he was stopped on Route 23 at 9:28 p.m. for allegedly driving with an inoperable tail light.

Police said during the investigation they discovered the warrant. Makser was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. He was released in his own recognizance and issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
