Cops: Health Care Worker Used Client's Money to Pay Her Own Bills

Deeanna Tyre, 28, is accused of stealing elderly Bloomingdale resident's funds to pay utility bills.

A health care worker took money from a Bloomingdale resident she was helping to pay her own utility bills, police said.

Deeanna Tyre, 28, was arrested Thursday and charged two counts of theft stemming from a July 5 incident, Bloomingdale police said in a press release.

Tyre was employed as a health care worker for an elderly resident on Rafkind Road. During that time, it was discovered that several utility bills not belonging to the resident had been paid using the resident’s money, police said.

A follow up investigation by Detective Sgt. Steven Caputo resulted in a warrant issued for Tyre’s arrest. She was originally arrested in Paterson and posted bail. She had to report to the Bloomingdale Police Department for processing. She was released pending her court date.
