Cops: Woman Found With Heroin Envelope, Needles

Motor vehicle stop on Route 23 in Butler leads to drug charges for Kinnelon 21-year-old.

A 21-year-old woman was found Monday on Route 23 in Butler with hypodermic needles and an empty envelope of heroin in plain view on her passenger seat, police said.

In addition to the hypodermic syringes charge, Garabed was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to maintain a lane, police said.

Police were on patrol at 10:39 p.m. when they noticed the gray Mercury Garabed was driving on Route 23 North to not be maintaining its lane, police said. Police pulled over the vehicle and when requesting Garabed’s credentials, noticed the heroin envelope, empty, on the seat of her car.

Upon further investigation, police found the hypodermic syringes.

Garabed was arrested and transported to the Butler police station. She was later released in her own recognizance and issued a ticket to appear in court at a later date.
