1 Dem to Face Incumbents for Butler Council Seat

Linda Gilvey filed nominating petitions on Monday.

While the June primary election for the Butler Council's two open seats will not be contested, November's general election will be as three candidates indicated Monday their intentions to run.

The seats that will be open are those of Republican incumbents Stephen Regis and Edwin Vath. Borough Clerk Mary O'Keefe said Monday that both incumbents filed petitions indicating their intentions to seek re-election.

Additionally, Democrat Linda Gilvey filed nominating petitions with the Butler Borough Clerk's office by the 4 p.m. deadline on Monday.
