Bid Award Tabled for WTB Field Lighting

Councilwoman wants drainage issues addressed first.

The voted Tuesday to table choosing the low bid for the lighting project that was approved by referendum for the , according to the Suburban Trends.

Councilwomen Linda Shortman and Jo-Ann Pituch said they would have preferred the vote be taken during the council's regular meeting instead on April 24. Shortman also said that she felt the drainage issues should be resolved before the lights are installed, according to the Trends.

The council has been and lighting at the field for over a year now, even asking voters if they feel the borough should pursue the project, estimated at a cost of nearly $400,000. The council also for the project that would have been paid back over 20 years from the Recreation and Open Space Establishment Fund prior to the referendum vote.

Voters approved the referendum with 867.2 "yes" votes to 839.8 "no" votes.
