Bloomingdale Voter Turnout Down from 2010

Republican vote also went down, while voter registration went up since last year

Bloomingdale has 5,032 registered voters this year. Approximately 1,910 (38 percent) of these voters came to the polls on November 8, according to unofficial results attained from the Borough Clerk, which do not include mail-in or provisional ballots. Official results will not be available until next week. 

In 2010, the numbers were slightly higher. Out of 4,982 registered voters, approximately 2,373 (47.6 percent) came to the polls. 

The unofficial 2011 results also show that the candidates for borough council received approximately 3,887 total votes. In 2010, they received approximately 4,797 total votes.

This decrease of 901 votes in 2011 all came out of Republican totals. The Republican candidates were actually down 1,033 votes from last year, while Democrats were up by 132 votes. 

Despite lower numbers than last year, voter turnout in Bloomingdale has been strong for the general election.
