Bloomingdale Budget Up for Introduction

An ordinance establishing a bank cap is also on the agenda.

The Bloomingdale Borough Council will hear an introduction of the 2013 municipal budget at their Tuesday meeting.

The council must vote on the budget at its introduction and at a future meeting for its final adoption.

An ordinance establishing a bank cap is also on the agenda, which may indicate that the currently drafted budget is under the state-mandated two percent tax levy cap and any applicable exceptions, such as rising health insurance or labor costs.

Municipalities with budgets under the maximum allowable amount can take those extra funds and establish a bank cap, which can be drawn upon within the next three years as an allowable excemption to the tax levy cap.

The council will also vote on a possible new member of the Bloomingdale Fire Department's Junior Program, Howard J. Vanderhoff.

A bond ordinance for the Rafkind Road Assessment Project is also up for first reading Tuesday.
