Why are there decimal points on the vote counts?
Dawn Hudson November 09, 2011 at 03:48 PM
Good question by Meredith. I was wondering the same thing.
Colleen November 09, 2011 at 06:01 PM
the decimal is a margin of error used in statistics.

Concerned Citizen/Mr. Krowska/Tea Party - I could have sworn you stated in a previous post that you don't live in Bloomingdale. You seem to be spending a lot of time setting up new user names and posting under them. Kinda creepy...
Debbie O'Neill November 09, 2011 at 08:53 PM
Ok...so why would Bloomingdale's election results have any impact on your tax bill? What am I missing? No, fortunately I am not related to a Mike O'Neill who passed away...
A Centered Citizen November 10, 2011 at 04:31 AM
You are not concerned, you are what is know as a 'Troll' in the Internet biz, just looking to rile people up with hate and nastiness to get responses. If you are really that far right that you have come full circle to believe yourself, I'll tell you why you are wrong. 1. You commented on an article about the field referendum passing. That will not raise your taxes. Not even if you did live in Bloomingdale. 2. If you can't figure that out, chew on this. Shared services lower taxes be having more people foot the bill for an expensive resource that is not being fully utilized, so that by definition lowers your taxes. 3. If you are just commenting on the elected Dems (probable) then feel comforted, as yes our taxes will go up. You see your beloved Repub majority royally screwed up the budget which we will be paying for next year, and since they still have the majority, they will continue to mess it up and increase taxes until they are ejected next year. You and yours can take credit for that. Dude, politics is not like a sport, don't keep supporting a terrible team just because you already own the jersey. If you wake up, you may find reality refreshing.
Debbie O'Neill November 10, 2011 at 01:50 PM
Centered Citizen - I love your post, but especially your analogy of supporting a terrible team just because you own the jersey - it's really funny but totally true! I may have to borrow that one from you... ; >
A CONCERNED CITIZEN November 10, 2011 at 02:28 PM
I wouldn't swap my Jersey for anything! I have done research on your team, and you minds well say you are a communist, socialist, anti american! Yes your party was the party of slavery!! Thank God my team's Leader stepped up and fought your team, yes I am talking about Abraham Lincoln Republican! Did you know that your party passed the Jim Crow laws? Did you know your party blocked black kids from attending school? Did you know your heralded member of Congress Robert Byrd was a big wig and a recruiter for the KKK? Yes and he fought the Republicans every step of the way when they passed the civil rights act! Did you know the Planned Parenthood that your party supports, has slaughtered more people than, if you combined all the deaths from every war that ever took place! I bet you didn't know that! Food for thought!
A CONCERNED CITIZEN November 10, 2011 at 02:32 PM
That is why, I could never support your party! Please don't try and blame Republicans for anyting, your President has spent more money than every president from George Washington through George Bush! I bet you didn't know that! See I believe in self reliance, I don't believe in raising people's taxes because they are more successful! That is not in our Constitution and not the American Way!! I do understand that there are people who will alwalys need assistance and that i fine! What I do not agree with is creating a Nanny state, that is not what my Great Grandfather, Grandfather, or Father fought for when they went to battle for your rights!
A Centered Citizen November 10, 2011 at 04:30 PM
You are too angry to understand the words I wrote. You keep saying 'your party'. If you are as intelligent as you think you are, read my name, and try to understand my post. I don't pick candidates based on what others bearing the same 'jersey' have done for a hundred years prior. I am able to look at what they are doing TODAY and make decisions based on their actions. The irony is that my post tried to make that point about you, and it took you two posts to prove that I am right. Face it, if Repub candidates were revealed to be Nazis, you would close your eyes and ears to the truth and vote for them because they were REPUBLICAN. Did you know that many of the elected officials in Bloomingdale, including one of our recent Mayors were actually Republicans at the national level even though they ran locally on the Democratic ticket? Why? Because the county Republicans control the local Republican party and choose the candidates, positions, and in our case even the Lawyer that costs 3x as much and increases taxes. That's OK by you because he is a Republican lawyer, and it's OK when Republican's raise taxes because they wear the same jersey. Did you take the same logic class as Yogi Berra in high school? This is about the podunk town of Bloomingdale, not the national history of American politics, so get with it, or just move on your way, so the rest of us can continue the real conversation about improving our town with WHICHEVER party is going to do the best job!
Ann November 10, 2011 at 07:05 PM
Wow....brilliant! Now, can we get on with what needs to be done in Bloomingdale and let those who want to just vent and grind personal axes find some other forum? There are a lot of important issues going on NOW--not back when Lincoln was president--and it's going to take a lot of getting along with one another to solve them.
