"It has been my privilege to be the borough attorney for Bloomingdale for over the past eight years, plus. It's a wonderful town. The borough is well represented by the people who sit up here. They work very hard in all things that they do and I know that there's differences of opinion of what's the right thing to do, but you should rest assured that everyone sitting up here really is working for the borough," McMahon said.

Mayor Dunleavy thanked McMahon for his years of service with the borough (see video), as well as Borough Clerk Jane McCarthy.

"I have a lifelong friend, and I know it," she said. "He will be missed."

McMahon will stay on as assistant borough attorney to assist with pending litigation that began processing while he was borough attorney. Immediately after being sworn in, Semeraro took a seat next to the mayor.
