Public Hearing to be Held for Mobile Vendor Law
Special meeting to be held Wednesday night.
The will hold a special meeting Wednesday night to entertain public comments on and no longer allow mobile food vendors in the borough.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the conference room at One Ace Road.
Sandra Alviene, president of the Board of Health, said even though the board already voted to approve the amendment, the board will be hearing public comments on the measure on Wednesday and possibly vote again at the board's regular meeting on April 25.

Alviene said the board discussed the amendment initially after reviewing the more than 20-year-old existing code. The way the code is written now, there is no limit on how many mobile food vendors can apply for permits to set up shop on Main Street, or anywhere else in the borough.
Some residents have expressed their opinion that the code amendment was , a mobile food truck that is parked outside of . Frank said he is not taking the actions of the board personally, and Alviene said it is also not the intention of the board to single out one mobile food vendor. The amendment would also ban ice cream trucks from selling in the borough.

"We're not singling out one person," she said.
Alviene said that Butler is a suburban borough and that the board is hoping to preserve its character.
"Downtown Main Street is looking so beautiful compared to what it was years ago," she said.
