Eagle Scouts, Art Contest Winners Honored in Bloomingdale

Sean Saint Jacques, Erik Synol, Sergio Meza and Camryn Keegan receive recognition.

The spotlight was put on the accomplishments of young people at Tuesday’s Bloomingdale Borough Council meeting.

Samuel R. Donald School students Sergio Meza and Camyrn Keegan were honored for being winners in the 17th Annual Passaic County Clerk Poster Calendar Contest.

Meza won second place in the contest and his art was featured on the February section of the calendar. Keegan received an honorable mention in the contest.

Meza was unable to attend Tuesday’s meeting, but Keegan was present to accept her certificate from Mayor Jonathan Dunleavy.

Also at Tuesday's meeting, Boy Scout Troop 86 members Sean A. Saint Jacques and Erik Hunter Synol were honored for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

Both Saint Jacques and Synol were at the meeting. They received their Eagle Scout rank at a Court of Honor on March 23.

In addition to receiving certificates Tuesday, the two Scouts had the day (March 23) named after them by the council.

“You make the community proud,” Dunleavy told the Scouts.

Fire Chief Michael Hudson also congratulated the Scouts, noting that the fire department already has two Eagle Scouts in its ranks.
