Today is the national celebration of Presidents' Day. So in honor of that, we present five presidential fun facts for today.

  • Forever a Bachelor—James Buchanan was the only president who never married.
  • There's Been a Miscount—President Barack Obama is considered the 44th president, but there have actually only been 43 presidents. Grover Cleveland was elected for two non-consecutive terms, and he was number 22 and 24.
  • All for One—George Washington was the only president chosen unanimously to serve.
  • Tall to Small—Abraham Lincoln was the tallest president, at 6 feet and 4 inches tall; James Madison was the shortest at 5 feet and 4 inches.
  • Second Place First—A total of 14 presidents also served as vice president—John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Van Buren, John Tyler, Millard Fillmore, Andrew Johnson, Chester Arthur, Teddy Roosevelt, Calvin Coolidge, Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Lyndon Johnson, Gerald Ford and George Bush.
