Four to Run for Two Council Seats in Bloomingdale, Incumbents to Run in Kinnelon, Butler

Candidates wishing to run for election filed petitions in the tri-boro Monday.

Four candidates filed petitions to run in the Nov. 8 election Monday to fill two open seats. The Republican candidates are incumbent Linda Huntley and GOP leader Ron Caputo and the Democratic candidates are Peyman (also known as Ray) Yazdi and John D'Amato. The two open seats are that of Huntley and Democrat Bernie Vroom, who has decided not to seek re-election.

Candidates wishing to run had to have submitted their petitions by 4 p.m. Monday.

In Kinnelon, Gary Moleta, who , filed a petition to run again for his seat and incumbent Ron Mondello also will be seeking re-election.

However in Butler, incumbent Councilwoman Judith Woop has not filed a petition for her own seat that will be available, but newcomer and Republican County Committee Chairman Sean McNear has filed a petition. Councilman Ray Verdonik's seat will also be up for election and he has also filed a petition.
