Kinnelon Council to Hold Emergency Meeting on Hurricane Damage

Council to discuss repairs to Kinnelon, Forge Roads.

The will be holding a special emergency meeting Thursday at 6:30 p.m. to discuss authorizing an emergency appropriation for storm-related damages in the borough from

The council will specifically discuss awarding a contract to Mike Fitzpatrick & Son for the repair of Forge Road, on which part of the road collapsed Sunday. Department of Public Works employees built a temporary road so that residents could be brought to safety. In addition to the emergency repair, the council will discuss having Borough Engineer Paul Darmofalski draw up plans for the permanent repair of the road and then advertise for bids for such.

As for Kinnelon Road, , the council will discuss authorizing the mayor to send a letter to Morris County requesting that temporary one-lane access be granted on the county-owned roadway.

The council will also be discussing a special bulk pick-up schedule.

The meeting will be open to the public and held at the Kinnelon Municipal Building.
