Kinnelon to Receive World Trade Center Artifact

Borough to hold dedication ceremony on Sept. 11.

will be getting a small artifact from the World Trade Center buildings that will be displayed in a case in the lobby of the municipal building.

Mayor Bob Collins announced the artifact during a borough council meeting Thursday. The mayor spoke about how the 10th anniversary of the attacks on the towers is coming up in September, and said that the borough was eager to work with The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to obtain an artifact to memorialize the event and the lives lost.

The mayor said a dedication ceremony will be held on Sept. 11, in which he will also ask several Kinnelon public safety officials who assisted in the Ground Zero search and recovery efforts to join him in dedicating the artifact.
