I just bought a house on Old Farmers this past year. I love the area overall, and from where my husband and I were living previously, it is a big improvement. I first want to express my gratitude to all those out-of-state workers that are working away from wives and children to help our state in this time of need. I also would like to say that yes, I am grateful to still have a house standing (that is also not flooded), a lot more than many can say. However, at this point, this many days without power seems inexcusable. I have a small child at home and my husband and myself both work (and have still been expected at work throughout all of this). It has been very difficult when we have woken in our home to see our own breath...to the point we have now been living back and forth between in-laws, commuting with ourselves, baby, 2 dogs and a cat (and burning a lot of fuel). Although our situation seems desperate, it is far from desperate when compared to the elderly without heat/power, or perhaps ability to get to necessary medications. I do live on the same road as an elementary school...I do not understand how "triage" works in this situation...but as someone else above mentioned, on top of how important it is to have a school's power restored to get children back into the classroom (and also help parents now with childcare needs get to work) these buildings could also be used as shelters. I am now looking into using our savings for a good generator instead of a new roof.

How can they not be working on that mess on Naughright Road at Arrowhead. It is a major road, will probably fix Cucinella as well as the developments in the area that have underground power. Why is it not a priority?
