Parking Prohibited in Front of Bloomingdale Borough Hall

Council passes ordinance, saying parked vehicles can impede drivers' ability to see traffic.

Very soon parking in front of the Bloomingdale borough hall will not be permitted.

The council approved an ordinance Tuesday night prohibiting people from parking in front of the building. The parked vehicles can prevent drivers from properly viewing the roadway before they pull out into traffic.

Chief of Police Joseph Borell recommended that parking in front of borough hall be prohibited due to “limited sight vision issues,” the ordinance states.

The ordinance also designates part of the East side of Hamburg Turnpike near 101 Hamburg Turnpike and the area in front of 126 Main Street as loading zones. Drivers who need to load or unload “goods or materials” may park at these locations may do so for only 15 minutes.

The ordinance will go into effect upon its final publication, which could be either Sunday or Monday.
