Poll: Should Halloween Be Postponed Because of Storm?

Kinnelon Council President Jim Freda sent an announcement of the postponement via email to residents Sunday night and said due to down wires and trees, the mayor and council made the decision to move the event for the safety of the children.

Tri-Boro Patch readers have expressed mixed emotions on the subject on our Facebook page. While some feel that Kinnelon is doing the right thing to protect the kids, others feel local government should not have the right to make the decision of when residents observe a holiday.

Some have also expressed frustration on the possibility of having to stock up on candy twice, as many residents may ignore the postponement and send trick-or-treaters out on Halloween, with others observing the holiday on Friday.
