Primary Results: GOPs Get Most Votes in Bloomingdale

Contested Kinnelon race leaves newcomer in line for council seat in November.

While Tuesday was a relatively quiet in the tri-boro, Kinnelon's contested race gave newcomer Carol Sventy enough votes to move on to the general election, according to unofficial results, and the two Republican candidates for received more votes than the Democrat candidates for the two open seats.

In , three on the Kinnelon Council. Sventy received 593 votes and incumbent Dan O'Dougherty received 556 votes (though absentee ballots have not yet been counted). Another incumbent, Andy San Filippo, received 541 votes and said he is not sure whether he will consider running as a write-in candidate on the November ballot.

voters showed a preference to Republicans. Since the primary was uncontested, all four candidates will run for the two seats on the council in November. Newcomer Michele Siek received the most votes (257) and incumbent Jo-Ann Pituch received the second most (244). Democrat Michael Sondermeyer received 146 votes and Member and Democrat Rich Dellaripa received 137 votes.

The primary election was also uncontested and two incumbent Republicans will be running for re-election to their two open seats in November. Councilman Bob Fox received 270 votes in Tuesday's primary and Councilman Robert Meier received 257 votes.
