Should Council Adopt Underage Drinking Ordinance?

Everyone has opinions. Patch is the place to share them.

Last night, the held a special meeting to discuss a that would allow underage drinkers, and those who are underage and found to be in possession of alcohol, to be penalized by police in the form of fines and, depending on the number of offenses, the suspension or loss of driver's licenses.

The meeting, which was held in the auditorium, was attended by more than 30 residents, Kinnelon Police Chief John Finkle and several members of the police department.

While the council did not vote on the ordinance during the meeting, several members of the public spoke for and against the ordinance.

For today's Question of the Day, we're asking: Should the Kinnelon Council support an underage drinking ordinance that would create penalties for those found drinking and possessing alcohol underage?
