Quiet Day for Primaries in Tri-boro

Very few voters could be seen entering or exiting polling locations during the day in the tri-boro Tuesday.

Polling locations were quiet during the day Tuesday, with few voters entering or exiting any of the seven polling locations in the tri-boro.

Voters were able to choose candidates in local, county and statewide elections beginning at 6 a.m.

Kinnelon, Butler and Bloomingdale council races are uncontested, though voters have the option of writing in candidates in the primary election. For a full list of candidates who are on the primary ballots, click

Historically, according to Kinnelon Borough Clerk Elizabeth Sebrowski, voter turnout is low during primary elections. Bloomingdale Borough Clerk Jane McCarthy said voter turnout in Bloomingdale has also been rather slow for the primary election.
