Borough Attorney Mark Madaio said that he has known other towns to receive artifacts from 9/11 and that in order to receive one, a federal judge must approve the artifact to be released, as it is technically evidence of a crime scene.

Collins said this artifact will help Kinnelon commemorate 9/11 and honor local residents who lost their lives that day.
