Architekt Donates to Bloomingdale Music Program

Co-owners wrote that they support music programs in public schools.

The co-owners of , a venue and recording studio that also offers private music lessons in Butler, donated $450 to the Music Department last month.

Board of Education Vice President John Pituch, sitting in for Board President Lauren Grecco, read a letter from co-owners Kurt Wubbenhorst and George M. Roskos IV during the board's meeting Monday.

According to the letter, Architekt held several concerts in honor of the business' one-year anniversary on Oct. 14 and 15 and donated a portion of the proceeds from the concerts to music departments in public schools in Kinnelon, Butler and Bloomingdale.

"As active performing musicians and music educators, we strongly believe that great music programs in our public schools have a huge impact on young musicians," the co-owners wrote.

Wubbenhorst and Roskos wrote that they would appreciate hearing how the donation has helped the department.

Pituch said the board was grateful for the donation and that he was sure it would be used well in the department.

"I know we can always use it and put it to good use," he said.
