Butler BOE Welcomes New Supervisor

Highlights from the Board of Ed meeting.

The following items occurred as a part of  Mario Cardinale’s report at Monday night’s board of education meeting, held at :

  • Cardinale formally welcomed John Baumann, the district’s new Building and Grounds supervisor, to the district. “John’s been on the job several weeks now, and I want to tell him publicly how happy we are to have him working here with us," Cardinale said.
  •  (RBS) Principal Andrea Vladichak and Jazz Band Director Lyn M. Casaleggio presented the school’s jazz band, which performed three selections from their upcoming concert Thursday for all in attendance. “Students elect to become a part of jazz band and their dedication is why we even have a jazz band. This is not something they’re forced to do; it’s something they wanted to do several years ago and because of that, it is a huge success and it’s a feather in their cap," Vladichak said.
  • Cardinale also mentioned that a teacher from each of the district’s three schools (BHS, RBS and ) will be honored at the June 11 board of education meeting in a Teacher Recognition ceremony. Cardinale stated that those teachers will then be presented with a plaque, certificate and photo of their peers at the year-end faculty “Strawberry Festival.”
  • Environmental Club supervisor JoAnn Roman has been working with volunteers from the community to beautify one of the courtyards at BHS. The Environmental Club did a wonderful job working together with adult, parent, teacher and student volunteers to do a series of plantings and landscaping out there that really, I think, is breathtaking,” Cardinale said.
