Richard Dellaripa was the only individual who filed for petitions by deadline, leaving two seats still open.

While the will have three seats open for election in April, current Board Member Richard Dellaripa was the only individual who filed a nominating petition by today's deadline, according to the district's Business Administrator George Hagl, leaving two sits still open.

Dellaripa's own seat is up for election. The other two seats that will be open are that of Renee' DeJohn, who has moved out of district, and Winifred O'Leary, Dellaripa said.

Dellaripa is completing his first full term and said he decided to run again because he feels that being on the board helps him contribute to his community.

"I'm trying to give back to the community and obviously they need the help," he said Tuesday. Each term is for three years.

Dellaripa said the Bloomingdale board has had trouble attracting interest from people wishing to serve on the board. "It's been a chronic situation, in terms of steady membership on the board," he said. He also said that he thinks there is lots of work to be done and that he thinks he can help by providing his input.
