Bloomingdale Schools to Share Computer, Bus Repair Services

School board approves agreements with Manchester and West Milford schools.

The Bapproved without comment two inter-local service agreements for the 2011-2012 school year with area school districts Monday.

The first, with the Manchester Regional High School, District of Haledon, is for technical support services, and the  second, with the West Milford Board of Education, is for mechanical and maintenance services of Bloomingdale school buses.

Under the first agreement, Bloomingdale will pay Manchester $22,890 for technology support services between July 1 and June, 30, 2012, and $1,200 for an offsite critical data plan  with 100 gigabytes of storage space to be in effect during that same period.

Bloomingdale will also pay Manchester $500 for email hosting; $500 for website content management system hosting; and $2,000 for setting up a website content management system.

Manchester will also supply, for an average of one day a week, services performed by professional information technology technicians in conjunction with an online helpdesk. The services are: server administration; server set-up and reconfiguration; network management; security assessment; website management; hardware and software support; printer maintenance; email administration; technology inventory; and scheduled staff training.

The West Milford agreement establishes a reimbursement schedule for personnel, including a chief mechanic, Class I mechanic, service mechanic and a driver trainer.

The chief mechanic’s base pay is $37 an hour; the Class I mechanic’s base pay is $30 an hour; the service mechanic’s base pay is $27 an hour and the driver trainer’s base pay s $26 an hour.

The agreement also sets rates for overtime at time-and-a-half, and double time.
