Bloomingdale Students Commit to Respecting Each Other, Teachers

School holds first Bobcat Pride and Spirit Day to foster an attitude of respect.

In an effort to reduce of number of incidents of bullying, educators at the Walter T. Bergen School held the inaugural Bobcat Pride and Spirit Day Sept. 6.

Students from all different grades were put in four different groups to foster a sense of pride and community among them. Each team was lead by faculty members.

The School Safety Team scheduled a number of team building exercises, which were directed by Team Makers North Jersey, a team-building activity service. A school-wide barbecue was also held.

“The entire school community renewed their commitment to promote respect, responsibility, and cooperation between faculty and students, with a renewed emphasis on student respect toward their peers,” said principal Frank Verducci.
