Bloomingdale Students Learn The Value of Saving

Kids at Samuel R. Donaldson School get a visit from Lakeland Bank employees.

Fourth graders at Samuel R. Donaldson School in Bloomingdale learned the importance of saving earlier this week as part of Teach Children to Save Day.

Carianne Reeber and Kelly Ballistreri reviewed the basics of needs and wants, identifying expenses, and the value of setting goals to save money with three classes.

“This program gives us the opportunity to use our life experiences and banking knowledge to motivate students to become lifelong savers,” said Thomas Shara, Lakeland’s President and CEO.
