Butler, Bloomingdale Enrollment Will Not Affect Grade Sections

St. Anthony School closure brings more students to Aaron Decker School.

Enrollment in the Butler and Bloomingdale school districts has seen a slight increase this coming school year, although not enough to affect grade sections, according to the superintendents of both districts.

Bloomingdale Public Schools has a total of 619 students enrolled, a small increase from last year's 608 students at the start of the school year, according to Interim Superintendent Frank Buglione. There has been no significant change among the individual grade levels.

"The number of students enrolled could go up closer to the beginning of the school year," Buglione said.

This is because some people enroll their children, if they have recently moved, for example, as late as the end of August and even through the beginning of the school year. 

Butler Public Schools also does not predict grade sections will change this fall.

"At this point in time, increased enrollment has not affected grade sections for the fall," Mario Cardinale, superintendent of the Butler school district, said.

According to Cardinale, there are 379 students enrolled for the fall at the , 300 students are enrolled at the , and 531 students are enrolled at

"There was a small increase of students at Aaron Decker School. This was due to transferring local residents that may have been from and the normal flow of students in the summertime that have recently moved in time for the new school year," Cardinale said.
