Butler High School Hosting Alumni Day

Event will bring former students of all graduating classes together.

Butler High School will be hosting its first Alumni Day next month, designed to bring former students of graduating classes throughout the school's history together at the BHS library.

The event will be held Dec. 21 from 9 a.m. to noon. Barb Fodor, the media specialist at BHS, is organizing the event for the school.

"All alumni are invited to come to the Butler High School Media Center to meet with our current seniors, share their college experiences and visit with our teachers," she said.

Butler Public Schools Superintendent Mario Cardinale spoke about the event at this month's board of education meeting and was excited about the concept.

"I think it's a great thing to build pride, I think it's a great thing to build community," he said.

Cardinale said the timing, during the holiday break, could provide for a better turnout when many former students are home visiting. He is hoping Alumni Day becomes an annual tradition.

"I think it will grow," he said. "It's a really great thing to get us moving forward."

Are you planning to attend the Alumni Day event? Which teacher are you most looking forward to seeing?
