Delayed Opening for Kinnelon Schools Monday

Snow routes will be in effect.

Kinnelon Public Schools will open Monday, but with a 90-minute delayed opening, according to the district.

The school district confirmed the opening via Textcaster message sent out to parents Sunday afternoon. Up until that point, Interim Superintendent Diane DiGiuseppe said she was unsure whether the district would definitely be able to open.

With the delayed opening, buses will follow snow routes.

"Please be patient at bus stops," the district said. "While the major roadways through the borough are clear, there may be extensive traffic and slower than normal pick ups. We will be able to provide food for student lunches at all schools."

The Kinnelon Board of Education will be meeting Monday at 8 p.m. in the Kinnelon High School auditorium to discuss whether to open school on Thursday and Friday, when students were originally scheduled to have off during the NJEA Convention which was canceled because of damage from Tropical Storm Sandy.
