Kinnelon Public Library, in partnership with the New Jersey Council for the Humanities, will host a screening and discussion of “Crude:  The Real Price of Oil”.  “Crude”, from filmmaker Joe Berlinger, examines a lawsuit by indigenous Ecuadorians against oil company Chevron which, they claim, has systematically polluted their country.  The plaintiffs claim that Texaco – which merged with Chevron 2001 – spent three decades systematically contaminating one of the most bio-diverse regions on earth, poisoning the water, air and land.  Please call the Library at (973) 838-1321 to sign up for the film and a community discussion of issues surrounding environmental justice in New Jersey.
