Kinnelon District Promotes Mulholland to Curriculum Director's Spot

Kiel School principal and Kinnelon educator Jodi Mulholland has been promoted to a new role within the school district and will be serving as the permanent director of curriculum, instruction and assessment.

Mulholland's appointment to the position was voted on at the Kinnelon Public Schools Board of Education's June 27 meeting, according to the Suburban Trends. She will be replacing Interim Curriculum Director Ruth Anne Estler, who came to the school district from Parsippany after Diane DiGiuseppe was appointed interim superintendent.

The school district announced Mulholland's appointment on its website last week, noting her achievements and accomplishments, such as helping the district gain a grant for professional development on Autism Spectum Disorders, and praising her character.

"In addition to her talents and accomplishments is her human side, her open door policy, and her kind and understanding nature that complements her intelligence and the fact that she is a fierce advocate for children and strives to ‘stretch’ every child to a higher achievement," the district said. "In this new capacity, Mrs. Mulholland extends her leadership role to the K-12 spectrum during one of the most difficult periods the field of education has seen in a long time."

Mulholland has served as principal for the Stonybrook School in addition to Kiel, but began working in Kinnelon as a part-time elementary specialist in 2004. She has also previously worked in Montville and Wyckoff and is an adjunct professor at William Paterson University and Walden University.

So who will fill the seat in Mulholland's pink office at Kiel School? The board will continue discussion on a replacement principal in coming weeks.
