COACH'S TAKE

"I knew going in that the first five minutes was going to be the tough part of it.  I knew we had to try to stay in there. I knew there was going to be a lot of emotion for our kids that hadn't been here, being in the spotlight. A lot of their kids played in this game last year and knew what to expect. Our guys weren't here when we played two years ago. That was my big concern. I thought if we could get through the first five to seven minutes reasonably well, that we would get better as the game went on. It just didn't work out that way for us." -  Kinnelon coach Kevin Kelly

THEY SAID IT

"They came out really hard. They had game plan in their head and they knew what they were doing before we did. They caught us off guard. We got down by a couple goals, put our heads down and they really took it to us today. Not saying we won't see them again in states and we are definitely looking forward to that." - Jacob Frenkel

UP NEXT - Kinnelon will face their first test of the state playoffs with a game against Middle Township at home Saturday at 1 p.m.
