“Connor Horton is a special individual who will be missed next fall, but has guided my underclassmen officers to run a successful student council in the years to come,” Hannah Sappio, faculty advisor to the student council, said in a letter to the NJASC. “It is rare to interact with an individual like Connor who has the capability to capture the attention of an entire room and be well respected by his peers, his teachers and the community.”

The NJASC gives one high school and one middle school student in the state the award annually.
