Kinnelon Students Visit Stock Exchange

Students learn how to plan a career in the financial industry.

Kinnelon High School students from Anna Ellington’s financial and career planning classes visited the New York Stock Exchange on Oct. 30.

The students traveled to New York City’s Financial District and met with Wall Street insiders. They learned about the 400 years of history that lead to the creation of the modern stock exchange from its genesis from the Dutch trading outpost.

Donato Cuttone, a senior managing director and vice chairman of Cuttone & Co. an investment and trading research firm. He discussed with students the skills and college majors they needed tot pursue if they wanted to enter the financial industry.

“Going to the Stock Exchange was an incredible learning experience,” said Alora Dunitz, one of Ellington’s students. “We were able to learn about the history of Wall Street and we even participated in a trading game that was fun and interactive. It was a great day.”
